Serena Williams dating

Yay for Gabourey Sidibe

2020.11.30 05:21 Donnawinter1 Yay for Gabourey Sidibe

I'm so happy for Gabby Sidibe and her engagement. I want to see more black women find love and be loved publicly, we deserve it. I've seen black men chastise her and Serena Williams for dating and marrying non black men. And I think it's just ridiculous. This expectation that black women only date black men in the name of racial loyalty is bull. These are the same men that have been demeaning and speaking of them in dehumanizing terms for so long. Black women are deserving of feeling desired and being loved. Expecting any black women to deprive themselves of love, out of loyalty to black men, many of whom are misogynoiristic, is bull. And this expectation is even more audacious when demanded of women deemed 'undesirable'. I know not all of them are like this, but that behaviour is common. And of course romantic relationship aren't the 'be all and end all' of life, but it's nice to see and experience it.

2020.11.13 00:59 balthamoz ANTM Alternate Reality: Cycle 2 Episode 2

ANTM Alternate Reality: Cycle 2 Episode 2
The Premise
"How would so-and-so do if she was on a different cycle? Would she have won if she was against different contestants?" in ANTM: Alternate Reality, we will try to answer some of these questions!
I randomized every model and photoshoot from America's Next Top Model to create an alternate reality with different casts and different photoshoots.
To keep things fair, I spend a maximum of 3 minutes looking for a suitable photo of each model, and use the first one I find that fits the brief. Where possible, I will try to avoid using photos from the show.
You can influence the results by voting on your Call Out Order each week. The format might change slightly depending on the week or the Cycle, but typically the model with the worst average Call Out score will be sent home.
Last Episode
Last time on America's NEXT Top Model... after some competitive casting rounds, the new batch of models arrived in New York City and noticed somebody was missing. After some speculation from the girls, Tyra announced that Heather would not be able to join them this cycle for "personal reasons". Dionne interviewed that it's "one down, 11 to go!"
Tyra REALLY wanted to do a photoshoot to bring awareness to homelessness... but decided that dressing models in high end clothing and exploiting actual homeless teens might be kind of tacky and gross. So instead, she decided to send the models shopping for an outfit that they consider their personal brand of "boho chic". They shot the outfits in locations around various New York City neighborhoods.
Best photo goes to...
1. Keenyah Hill (Cycle 4)
2. Chantal Jones (Cycle 9)
3. Lacey Rogers (Cycle 22)
4. Melrose Bickerstaff (Cycle 7)
5. Jaclyn Poole (Cycle 16)
6. Dionne Walters (Cycle 8), 7. Christina Murphy (Cycle 4), 8. Bre Scullark (Cycle 5), 9. Ambreal Williams (Cycle 9), 10. Victoria Henley (Cycle 19)
Will Amber and Simone please step forward?
Amber... A LOT of the judges really wanted you gone, but others are interested to see what you have to give in this competition. But is curiosity enough to keep you here another week?
And then we have Simone... somebody who the judges have always wondered if she has more to give, but produced a very disappointing photo. So who stays in this competition?
...

11. Amber DePace (Cycle 13)
Thanks, Simone.
Eliminated: Simone Lewis (Cycle 14)
Cycle 2 Cast

Episode 2
For the Episode 2 photoshoot Tyra had another truly inspired idea: she would pair the models up with a man twice their age and have them shoot cheesy romance covers in very embarrassing scenarios!
Buuuuut... somebody told her that might be sort of creepy, so instead, the models wrote a brief synopsis for their own romance novel genre for a cheeky fashion story in Cosmopolitan magazine. They then worked with creative director Jay Manuel to cast a costar and design a creative for a faux cover of their concept.
Here are their best shots and synopses:
Amber DePace: It's Like Judas on Your Wedding Day: a young Christian woman named Serena discovers on her wedding day that her betrothed has been pretending to be Christian to win a bet that he could get her to fall in love with him. Scandalized, Serena moves back to her country roots to start over. But will she find love?
Ambreal Williams: Fourth of July: 10 years after their High School graduation, four friends return to their home town for some 4th of July festivities. While living the memories of their youth, July must decide whether to risk it all by admitting how she feels...
Bre Scullark: New York State of Mime: After facing scathing reviews for her latest show, successful Broadway actress Melody never imagined she would be making a career change as an acting coach, let alone falling in love with an aspiring mime. Will she learn that true love is in actions, and not words?
Chantal Jones: It's in His Kiss: Janna is Queen B and Cheerleading Coach. Max is Valedictorian and Student Council president. They have lost touch, but Janna and Max will always remember passing their long childhood summers at the Kissing Booth. When Janna discovers she is sick and faces the possibility of spending another long summer alone... she discovers who will always be by her side.
Christina Murphy: Hours in the Day: \"When are you going to find a man to put up with you?\" \"You're not getting any younger!\" \"Tick tock... you know I want grandchildren!\" Feeling the pressure from everybody to finally find love amidst her busy schedule, Ursula visits a spellcaster for a Love Potion. But the solution isn't what she expected: she is offered a Date Doll... a stand-in to send on dates in her place. But when the Date Doll starts to take on a life of its own, Ursula is having second thoughts...
Dionne Brown: Last Man on Earth: Decades after the last male is born to the human race, scientist Jinnifer creates one to try and quell her loneliness. It all starts off great, until her studly creation starts to become curious about the world beyond her lab...
Jaclyn Poole: I Choose Me: after a toxic love triangle threatens to tear two best friends apart, Stacy begins a long and painful journey to love herself and her squeaky voice. She heads out on a roadtrip across the United States and along the way discovers things about herself that she never knew were possible!
Keenyah Hill: Mood Ring: Yasira and her cousin Sumi always knew there was something special about grandma, and after attending her funeral, decide to take a closer look at her jewelry collection. What they discover brings them closer than they ever had before to finding love... and also threatens to tear apart everything they ever knew.
Lacey Rogers: Let 'Em Eat Cake: In this modern retelling of Marie Antoinette, senior Mari Antoine gets more than she bargained for becoming the head of the student council. As the school year hurdles toward the Spring Bake Sale and tensions rise within the student body, Marie must choose to align herself with Quarterback Louis or risk losing it all...
Melrose Bickerstaff: My Funny Valentine: talented pianist Murphy finally catches her big break when her demo tape is accepted by the most sought after jazz bar in Manhattan. But when she finds out they only accepted her when they thought she was a man, she puts a sinister plan into action. This tale of seduction and intrigue will keep you guessing every step of the way!
Victoria Henley: Color of Love: In a futuristic world where the human race has become cybernetic, people's souls are exhibited on their skin with brilliant patches of colour. People know the identity of their soulmate when their markings match perfectly with somebody else. Geometra never expected she would meet her soulmate, let alone in the strange sequence of events that led them together... but is all what it seems?

2020.11.03 01:42 oceanlovecats times you hated characters

so gossip girl is a show in which you have to hate every single character at some point so here are my times:
-blair at the very beginning, she just radiated bitchy mean girl but i grew to love her quickly after we saw her vulnerable, funny and childish sides. and when she sabotaged jenny's art in s4 like she forgave chuck for sleeping with jenny but not jenny? also she should've spoken to serena before doing anything with dan but tbf they've all dated the same people so isn't a big deal lmao
-serena- season 5 she just seemed so moody all the time and the way she acted towards lola and ivy and when she was gossip girl just ugh.
-jenny- season 1 when she became queen and the way all she cared about was being popular and season 3 whenever she'd bicker with eric despite the fact she was treating him terribly
-nate- i didnt like the way he dumped vanessa at the end of season 2 and then got with blair soon after. it felt very unfair and selfish
-chuck-i mean him practically being a rapist in the pilot episode :-/ but after that i like him for the entire show.
-georgina- end of season 1 i hated her with her passion and start of season 3. i find her hilarious in all the other seasons though, majorly underrated.
-dan- sleeping with ms carr and then getting defensive when people tried telling him it was wrong, sleeping with georgina at the start of s3 despite everything she'd done and the way he treated serena in the last two seasons
-lily- getting serena arrested at the end of s2, taking william back after everything, the way she treated rufus in s6
and then there's characters like ms carr and juliet and william van der woodsen who i won't even start on my dislike for.
let me know yours :)

2020.10.26 09:58 aylinal My notes on the show

So... After being asked to watch Gossip Girl many of my friends, years of hesitation, and laziness, I was finally able to watch and finish it! I have to say, at times it was very hard to watch for me as I despise Serena and her life choices, but overall I liked the show. Here is a rant point by point about the show, and if you're a Serena/Blake fan and get easily triggered I suggest you not read, as most of this is going to be about her.
  1. How can a person be so naive? Almost every "main" problem in each season was caused by Serena trusting someone that she shouldn't, while everyone else around her warned about it. I was cringing so hard in scenes where she's like "he/s changed now, trust me" or "he isn't what you think he is, trust me" about her boyfriends or dad. Also what was up with dating every guy she meets right away? Remember when she got mad because of how Dan portrayed her in his book.. In my opinion that's exactly what she is. Shallow party girl that will fall in love with anyone who's nice to her.
  2. I apologize to Blake for associating her with this, but the way Serena's mouth as open all the time annoyed me so fucking much. I have OCD so I tend to get stuck on things like this a lot and it just triggers me so much so most of the time I couldn't even look at her face. She has literally 2 emotions (either she's smiling and biting her lip(and then opening her mouth again) or she's rolling her eyes while her mouth is open) it's just so annoying that I wish it was a different actress for her to be watchable. But again with her awful personality I guess an awful portrayal was what she deserved.
  3. How many times Serena tried to sabotage someone (mostly Blair) because she wants them to be happy but in reality she just harms them
  4. The way she was pushing William everywhere while her mom was married to Rufus. This is pretty self explanatory so I'm not going to go deeper. She has literally no respect for others wishes; you can also see it when she forces Ivy to go to nyc with her, or when she forces blair to attend her thanksgiving when blair says her mom is expecting her.
  5. Also one of the scenes that annoyed me so much is when Serena threw a fit because her bf wasn't seated next to her in the fashion show. She should know that a blogger or a journalist sitting there is much more valuable than her who-knows-what doing boyfriend.
  6. The way Serena humiliates her mom (it happened 3 times) in public... she is just so disrespectful towards her and I don't understand how Lily ever bore her. Yes, she has made a lot of mistakes but nothing gives you the right to publicly humiliate your mom at her own party. Also, how could a daughter and mom not speak for 3 months? It literally made no sense to me why they wouldn't call when Serena was missing.
  7. Speaking of Lily, I really liked her at the beginning of the series but she's extremely flawed. She is a huge liar, I really laughed when she told someone "I hate lying" because the whole series she was hiding something from Rufus or lying about it. I didn't like their relationship because of this, but I'm also surprised they weren't the endgame, because how could Lily get back with William after everything he had done.
  8. I liked Rufus in the beginning of the show but after he married Lily I feel like he just stopped working, stopped making music, stopped everything, and kind of lost the charisma that he had in season 1. Even the idea of Ivy and Rufus was disgusting because for a while he treated her like a daughter and then just started dating, which was extremely cringy.
  9. One of the stupidest things on the show was Lily choosing to stay with Bart instead of Rufus. Before his fake death, she was trying to divorce him, it seems like she just forgot about everything Bart had done to her.
  10. I really dislike Dan but it made sense that he is the gossip girl. I know it was a last-minute decision but if the writer thought about it and added some hints in previous season's it'd be pretty cool. I just don't understand how everyone was so calm about it, he had seriously damaged their image multiple times and caused huge problems.
  11. When Dan ignored the biggest opportunity of his life (academy in Rome) to do that revenge thing with Georgina I was really mad, but then it made so much sense as he got much more money from publishing those articles, it was a financially smart move.
  12. Blair is my absolute fav character! I love Dorota and her friendship, I love her family, both her stepdad and real dad, and I think Eleanor was the best parent in the show. At first, they portrayed her like a mother that's ignoring her daughter but out of all the parents she was the most supporting, most understanding one.
  13. I ship Dan and Blair! The scenes with them actually gave me butterflies, I liked how naturally Dan caught feelings for her unlike the obsession with Serena. I like Chuck and Blair as a couple but I feel like by season6 they should've outgrown each other. I really like both characters, and I wish they didn't portray Chuck as a rapist in the first episode, and I think they were the only people who really grew up.
  14. It's sad that the only poc character of the show, Vanessa, was such a horrible person. The common thing her and Jenny share is that they both happen to know things that aren't their business. I hated them both at times. I'd say they both were the biggest villains in this show along with Serena.
  15. Nate was the nicest character of all, he is such a sweetheart and he didn't deserve most of the unfortunate things that happened to him.
  16. I love Georgina! I think she's one of the funniest characters, and I liked her working with Dan. It seemed like every time the writers couldn't think of an interesting plot they would bring back Georgina, but anyway. One thing I don't understand is why Ivy and Georgina agreed to help Blair with Bart when they would gain nothing from it.
  17. Did the writers just forget about universities? Honestly, after the freshman year for everyone and the 1st semester of sophomore year for Serena and Blair, it's like no one was attending college anymore, Nate and Blair started working and Dan was doing ???? and we didn't even get to see them struggle with finals week or even graduate. For people who were dying to get accepted to college it seemed off that everyone just left it after a year....
  18. And finally, the last season, especially episode 9 and 10 were extremely rushed! The soundtrack, editing, acting, all seemed so horrible for those 2 episodes. it's like they just edited random scenes together that it didn't make sense.
Sorry for this huge post and these are just my opinions, please don't take it personally :)

2020.10.07 19:48 crazyei8hts BFFL Week 5 Projections

Quarterbacks

Pos Player Team Opponent Last Week Projection Comments.....................................
QB Amy Bostwick Broncos vs. Patriots 29 35 The Broncos have had quite the favorable schedule so far, which is good news for Amy owners. She could be the highest scoring player this week against a shoddy defense.
QB Ben None Dolphins @ Seahawks 45 33 Ben None was the highest scoring fantasy player last week and could go back-to-back against a Seahawks team that has given up many points in their past. Start him like always.
QB Drew Bledsoe Panthers vs. Bears 20 30 Drew is having a blast so far this season; he has the most passing yards in the league and has 11 touchdowns to go along with it. He's a rarity in that he's one of the best fantasy QBs without much of a running game. Anyway, keep starting him.
QB Chucky Flinder Giants @ Frogs 27 29 Chucky is just getting warmed up. After decimating the Patriots defense, Chucky gets to face the equally feeble Frogs on the other side of the line of scrimmage. Start Chucky with the utmost confidence this week!
QB Dante Robinson Lions @ Orcas 27 27 The Orcas have been trying to win games by outscoring their opponents, but that's a dangerous game to play against Dante. Although it would be good news for Dante fantasy owners! Hopefully he can have one of his usual huge games.
QB Eric Lebeaux Saints vs. Buccaneers 19 27 The Buccaneers have shut down pass-first QBs like Andy Gibbons and Rich Gannon, but they have wilted against running QBs like Dante Robinson and Debra Hannigan. Eric is, of course, a runner. Looks like the scales are tilting in Lebeaux's favor.
QB Betty Houstan Pigskins @ Stars 23 25 Betty has a juicy matchup this week and is fresh off a great day passing. She's got some real potential this week.
QB Steve McNair Fishes @ Bengals 11 22 Steve still is in a funk offensively, but a matchup against the winless Bengals might be just what he needs to turn it around. At least, we can hope so.
QB Jocinda Smith Rams vs. Rockets 38 22 Wowza! Jocinda had her best game yet with a 38 point bonanza. The Rockets are a slightly better defense, but Jocinda has been great again any opponent. No reason to doubt her here.
QB Colin Freeburg Ravens vs. Cardinals 15 21 Colin has been a pleasant surprise this season, averaging 23 points per game after only 15 per game in the simulated season. Does that mean he will regress to the mean? Hopefully not, because he has a nice matchup against the Cardinals this week.
QB Pete Wheeler Redskins @ Jaguars 12 21 The Redskins have a big game this week against the Jaguars, and it may require a little more passing from Pete. I'd expect a better game than he provided last week.
QB Judy Abwunza Bills @ Chiefs 11 20 Judy had a rough game against the Redskins, but she's got a chance to bounce back. The Bills will have to score a lot to keep up with the Chiefs, and Judy will now have that second option of running the ball.
QB Nestor Carpenter Chiefs vs. Bills 29 20 The Chiefs offense has been great, as we all expected. Nestor and his buddy Knuckles are tied for the 3rd highest scoring fantasy player so far this season. However, this is the toughest defense Nestor has had to face yet. He may take a step back from his usual outputs, but he still has the skills to put up points.
QB Debra Hannigan Rockets @ Rams 13 19 Debra's last two weeks have been a little bit of a skid, but she has too much talent to stay down for long. No reason to remove her from that QB2 slot.
QB Stuart Sullivan Orcas vs. Lions 17 18 It's gonna be a tough matchup here, but Stuart has been pretty even keel (except for that one bad game). His ceiling is limited, but he could put up a decent game.
QB Rich Gannon Bears @ Panthers 24 17 The Panthers have actually been a nuisance on defense to other teams, so the Bears' struggles might continue. But don't get me wrong, they'll still keep trying to pass until they can get things straightened out.
QB Lori Temple Frogs vs. Giants 19 17 Lori has picked it up in her last two games, so it might be time to strike while the iron is hot. The Giants have a below average defense. Lori has an outside chance at her first 20-pointer this week.
QB Debby Nagasawa Jaguars vs. Redskins 18 15 Debby runs into the dreaded Redskins matchup, which severely limits her fantasy ceiling because she won't get to run wild like usual. I wouldn't say bench her, but brace for impact.
QB Sally Dobbs Buccaneers @ Saints 29 14 Sally had a massive stat line last game, although that was against the Stars. I don't think she'll be able to replicate those numbers against a more competent team.
QB Julio Henderson Seahawks vs. Dolphins 19 13 If you take out Julio's week 3 goose egg, he's actually averaging 19 points per game. However, you can't do that, so he's averaging 14 points per game. Still, that's better than we expected of him coming into this season.
QB No Name 3 174 Bengals vs. Fishes 15 11 No Name has been one of the biggest QB disappointments this season, only averaging 13 points per game after averaging 18 in the simulated season. I just don't see a favorable matchup in her sight soon.
QB Zena Fromme Cardinals @ Ravens 11 7 Zena is going against a harsh defense this week. She may be on her backside more often than she is upright and passing the ball.
QB Andy Gibbons Stars vs. Pigskins 5 7 That seems a little more like the Andy we've come to know. Not the best fantasy option, especially against a Pigskins offense that has been shutting down opposing QBs.
QB Sharon Crowe Patriots @ Broncos 5 4 Sharon is averaging 7 points per game so far this season. Not what you want from your QB, but hopefully she's your third stringer and not your second stringer.

Tight Ends, Running Backs, and Wide Receivers

Pos Player Team Opponent Last Week Projection Comments........................................
WR Mindy Weaver Panthers vs. Bears 24 31 Alright, time to brag about Mindy. Not only does she have the most receiving touchdowns (7), the most total touchdowns (9), and the most fantasy points (139), she also has 134 MORE RECEIVING YARDS than anybody else! That's a whole great game's worth of yardage, and the season is only 4 weeks old!
WR Brett Favre Broncos vs. Patriots 31 28 It looks like Brett is the receiver to start in this Broncos offense. He has 77 points over his last two games and shows no signs of slowing down.
WR Jimmy Rockfish Dolphins @ Seahawks 21 26 Jimmy has been nothing short of spectacular this season and will remain near the top of the WR fantasy rankings all season long. Start him with confidence!
WR Lance Lundergaard Pigskins @ Stars 20 25 Lance has been eerily consistent the past few weeks, with scores of 21, 19, and 20. I could definitely see him getting another 20-pointer against an awful Stars defense.
WR Reese Worthington Orcas vs. Lions 11 24 "Reese sweepstakes is a lie" - Yuryavic. But for real, Reese has really cooled off after his opening week explosion. However, the Orcas will need a big game from their star receiver, and Reese tends to step up when the stakes are higher. Reese should have a good game here.
WR Baloney Maloney Frogs vs. Giants 20 23 Despite being one point behind Greg last week, Baloney is still the top receiver in this offense. With two straight 20-point games, it sure feels like Baloney could get a third.
WR Maria Luna Bills @ Chiefs 10 22 Maria had a bad game last weekend, but it was only because she was playing the Redskins. She should be back at full strength this week and put up her usual big numbers again, even in a tough matchup.
WR Vicki Kawaguchi Rams vs. Rockets 39 21 After mustering up only 5 points in week 3, Vicki went off the charts for 39 last week. I'd expect her to even out and end up somewhere in between those this week.
WR Rainbow Callahan Bears @ Panthers 19 20 Rainbow improved a little bit last week with a 19 point performance, but that's still not what we've come to expect from her. I'd like to think she can get it going. At least, the Bears need her too if they wanna start winning again.
WR Knuckles McGhee Chiefs vs. Bills 34 20 Knuckles is facing a tough defense this week, but it's nothing he hasn't seen before. He may be a bit below his season average, but don't you dare think about taking him out of your starting lineup yet.
WR Mohammed Springsteen Fishes @ Bengals 0 20 It's been tough for the Fishes lately, but this is a matchup Mohammed can exploit. He might be able to reach the end zone rushing AND receiving this week.
WR Yasmin Kristov Lions @ Orcas 5 20 Yasmin was nowhere to be found next week, but she's too vital to this offense to be held back for long. I'd expect bigger things from her this week.
WR Amir Khan Ravens vs. Cardinals 5 20 Amir had his first bad game of the season, but he should be able to rebound quickly against a Cardinals team that just allowed 48 points to their two opposing WR's last week. Good starter in this one.
WR Fred Sanders Seahawks vs. Dolphins 28 20 Rushing, receiving, Fred can do it all. He could probably pass, too, if the coaches let him. He's one of the most consistent fantasy players and will find a way to get his weekly chunk of points.
WR Mike Schwartz Buccaneers @ Saints 20 18 Mike surprised us a bit with two rushing touchdowns, even though he's usually a more valuable receiver. He'll be the Bucs' main lifeline in this one.
WR Neal Smith Jaguars vs. Redskins 20 18 Despite the awful Redskins matchup, Neal is probably still a good starting WR. He'll rack up a lot of short yardage catches, and point-per-reception rules will come in handy this week!
WR Georgette Washington Rockets @ Rams 17 18 The Rams just gave up two 20-point games to their opposing receivers, even though they still won. The Rockets should try to beat the Rams with the deep ball.
WR Dwight Frye Pigskins @ Stars 28 17 Other than one bad game, Dwight has been pretty good this season. The matchup is working in his favor this week, too. He could have another good week as a FLEX.
WR Nutzy Nussbaum Lions @ Orcas 24 16 Believe it or not, after three straight 20+ pointers, Nutzy now has one more fantasy point then the supposed Lions' top receiver, Yasmin. He's a real threat in this offense and should not be taken lightly. He's worth another start.
WR Frankie McDoogle Orcas vs. Lions 25 16 Frankie has outscored his counterpart Reese in each of the last three weeks. However, thanks to Reese's huge week one, Reese still has more total points. This leads me to think Reese will be the main target in this tense matchup, but Frankie will still put up some points.
WR Isaac Drummond Saints vs. Buccaneers 2 16 Alright, hear me out. Yes, Isaac is the lowest ranked fantasy WR right now. However, the Bucs have been ganging up on #1 WRs so much, they tend to forget about the #2. Also, if the other half of the defense tries to stop the QB scrambling, that will just leave Isaac doubly open. Trust me on this one.
WR Pickles Peterson Cardinals @ Ravens 13 15 Even though he scored less than Patsy last week, Pickles is still the top dog here. However, the Ravens pose a tough matchup. I wouldn't hold my breath for a big game from Pickles, but he'll still likely be the highest scoring Cardinal.
WR Stinky Steiner Giants @ Frogs 14 15 Stinky appears to have the upper hand in this offense, even though the Giants are more successful when they're running the ball. However, in this favorable matchup, they could produce in both facets of the offense.
RB Tina Herrara Jaguars vs. Redskins 3 15 Tina gets the start this week and is a good RB streaming candidate.
WR Nickie Noodleson Panthers vs. Bears 0 15 This was Nickie's first dud of the season, after finding the end zone in each of the first three games. The Bears have been quite disappointing in all facets of the game lately, so Nickie will likely get back in the receiving mix this week. Not a bad FLEX play.
RB Luanne Lui Redskins @ Jaguars 17 15 Luanne showed us again why she's the heart and soul of the Redskins and the best TERB in the league. Keep her locked in that lineup.
WR Omar Stephano Saints vs. Buccaneers 15 15 Omar still has yet to have a huge game. It might have to wait another week if Eric Lebeaux runs all over the Bucs. Then again, if the Bucs go all in on the blitz, Eric will hit Omar on the deep bombs. This one could go either way.
WR Veronica Lee Bengals vs. Fishes 15 13 Veronica and Kim have been like a coin flip so far this season, and last week the coin flip didn't cost you as they both scored 15. I'm still giving a slight edge to Veronica.
WR Stephanie Morgan Rams vs. Rockets 18 13 There she is! Stephanie doubled her season point total to 36 after an 18-point game. Perhaps Stephanie has turned it around. She could find the endzone again this week.
WR Donovan McNabb Broncos vs. Patriots 0 12 Donovan was shut out last week but the Broncos have a great matchup this week and could get everyone involved. Donovan might find his way back into the end zone this week.
WR Austin Carpenter Stars vs. Pigskins 11 12 Austin's ceiling is limited in this weak offense, but he's still the main target and is usually for something in the low 10's each week.
WR Terrell Davis Bears @ Panthers 8 11 Terrell only has 17 points over his last three games and hasn't been much of a threat recently. But if the Bears can get back to their old ways, his stock will go up.
WR Kim Esposito Bengals vs. Fishes 15 11 Veronica and Kim have been like a coin flip so far this season, and last week the coin flip didn't cost you as they both scored 15. Kim is still just a bit behind Veronica at this point.
WR Winky Wojohowitz Fishes @ Bengals 0 11 It seems to be all or nothing for Winky, as it is with a lot of wide receivers in this league. However, if there was a matchup in which he could give it his all, it's this one against the lowly Bengals.
WR Greg Bonnell Frogs vs. Giants 21 11 There it is! I told you Greg could catch the deep ball. He hauled in two long touchdowns last week, his first two of the season. The Frogs have another nice matchup this week, and Greg could get another long one.
WR Shannon Petroviski Giants @ Frogs 12 11 Shannon is a shade below Stinky and is really only worth a start when she finds the end zone, which is never a given.
WR Ernie Steele Patriots @ Broncos 0 11 Ernie hit a new low last week with a big fat ZERO. This Patriots offense is just not getting it done so far. But Ernie is the best they've got. One consolation here is that if they get blown out by the Broncos, he could get a garbage time touchdown.
TE Marky Dubois Rockets @ Rams 15 11 Marky, Marky, Marky. How does he keep it up! He's still one of the most valuable TERBs in the league.
WR Amanda Craven Dolphins @ Seahawks 17 10 The start of something new for Amanda? After 9 points in her first three games, she scored 17 last week. The Seahawks aren't the best defense so perhaps Amanda could try to repeat that performance.
TE Kiesha Phillips Redskins @ Jaguars 3 10 Kiesha hasn't been quite her dominant self lately, but I think the Redskins will get her involved a little more now that their running game is getting stuffed more often.
WR Sidney Webber Redskins @ Jaguars 10 10 Sidney is pretty good for somewhere around 10 points each week. Unfortunately, the Redskins spread the ball around so much that she doesn't have much of a ceiling.
WR Liz Levin Stars vs. Pigskins 0 10 Liz has had alternating games of double digits, and zero. The pattern suggests a double digit performance this weekdo you trust it?
WR Susie Townshend Jaguars vs. Redskins 11 9 Susie will probably concede most of the targets to Neal this week, and is only worth a start if she finds the end zone. But that's a risky call against this Redskins defense.
WR Achmed Khan Redskins @ Jaguars 4 9 Achmed doesn't have a high ceiling in this situation, but the Redskins might have to pass a little more in this matchup.
TE Lisa Crocket Bills @ Chiefs 0 8 Lisa had a great game two weeks ago, then was stuck on the O-Line against the Redskins. This week will show us if that outburst was the real deal or just a mirage.
TE Karla Karloff Buccaneers @ Saints 4 8 Karla may be cooling off a bit, but her track record shows that she's still a pretty good starting TERB. You could do worse.
WR Michelle Hall Buccaneers @ Saints 22 8 Michelle had a big game with two receiving touchdowns, but that seems more like an aberration than a newfound weapon, according to Michelle's past.
WR Patsy Clinehurst Cardinals @ Ravens 16 8 Patsy's solid performance last week is quite promising, although I wouldn't promise much to you this week in a tough matchup against the Ravens.
WR Renee Matthews Chiefs vs. Bills 12 8 Renee has picked it up the last couple weeks, but that may end here. Against a tough defense, the Chiefs will probably lean on their main man Knuckles. Renee's production could take a hit.
WR Florence Jackson Patriots @ Broncos 9 8 Florence has been okay so far, but okay might be as good as she gets. Same with Ernie, a garbage time touchdown might be what you're looking for here to supplant her fantasy points.
RB Gretchen Hasselhoff Redskins @ Jaguars 6 8 Gretchen hasn't quite lived up to expectations, but she'll still get use in this offense. Perhaps look out for more short yardage receptions from her.
WR Belinda Winters Bills @ Chiefs 19 7 The only Bill upset about not playing the Redskins this week is Belinda, who had her first good game last week against them. Unfortunately, Belinda will probably be back to one or two catches max.
WR Cathy Benitez Ravens vs. Cardinals 4 7 Cathy is arguably the fifth option in this offense, which is not something you wanna say about the #2 string wide receiver.
TE Travis Diamond Ravens vs. Cardinals 14 7 Travis had a splendid game last week. His dual threat of rushing and receiving always keeps him fantasy relevant. He's got some upside here in this matchup.
RB Ella Fent Redskins @ Jaguars 8 7 Ella has been alright lately, which is good enough to be a starting TERB. She will get the ball a few times every week.
WR Robert Ellison Rockets @ Rams 0 7 After his great Week 1, Robert hasn't done much of anything. He's getting passed in the pecking order by Marky the tight end.
TE Tom Getz Broncos vs. Patriots 10 6 Tom cashed in on a long touchdown last week, which can happen from time to time if the defense focuses on the two wide receivers.
RB Joshua Marriott Ravens vs. Cardinals 9 6 Joshua had a touchdown last week, his second of the season. It's a coin flip at this point. Might be worth another start if you're a gambling man.
WR Oliver Ramierez Seahawks vs. Dolphins 21 6 Oliver has been up and down so far this season, which means that this is a down week. It's also probably a down week because the Dolphins defense is good.
RB Victor Jones Broncos vs. Patriots 4 5 The touchdowns are hard to come by, but Victor always seems to get enough yards to at least be serviceable.
TE Ricky Williams Dolphins @ Seahawks 22 5 Ricky exploded last week for two long touchdowns. But that's the tricky part about TERBs, most of their catches are touchdowns, they just don't get many catches. So don't be surprised if Ricky is back near zero.
TE Kimmy Eckman Lions @ Orcas 14 5 Kimmy shocked us all with 50 yards on the ground and a touchdown reception. Hard to see that happening from her again soon.
TE Carlos Ocampo Saints vs. Buccaneers 3 5 Carlos can show up when least expected, but also not appear when expected. So who knows what to project for him here.
TE Tony Delvecchio Stars vs. Pigskins 10 5 Tony has been a surprisingly attendable TERB, but this situation is quite volatile. With a poor QB, Tony is always in danger of putting up zero unexpectedly.
TE Mikey Thomas Bears @ Panthers 7 4 Mikey had a nice game last week but isn't looked at too much near the end zone.
TE Dan Doorknob Frogs vs. Giants 5 4 The Frogs keep using Dan in a fullback-like position, where he just bowls over everybody for a few yards. One of these days, he'll do this near the goal line.
TE Craig David Giants @ Frogs 0 4 Craig is a notoriously poor performing tight end. Good matchup here, but not must past indicator of fantasy stats with Craig.
RB Marcus Weiss Orcas vs. Lions 13 4 Marcus!!! That's what we want to see. The bad news is that I feel the Orcas will be playing from behind and passing a lot more than rushing.
RB Cisco Kidd Panthers vs. Bears 12 4 Cisco found his way into the end zone last week, but if there's one position where past performance does not influence future performance, it's the TERB.
TE Needle Haystack Patriots @ Broncos 0 4 With any other QB under center, I'd be starting Needle every week in the TERB slot. Unfortunately he has Sharon Crowe trying to not get sacked throw to him.
TE Bert Nicholson Seahawks vs. Dolphins 1 4 Bert is not getting too many looks in this offense. The Seahawks offense is pretty dependent on Fred.
TE Lulu Legosi Cardinals @ Ravens 1 3 Lulu has 15 fantasy points this season, but 12 of them are from one game. It's very boom or bust with her.
RB Hans R. Dirtywashum Fishes @ Bengals 2 3 Hans doesn't do much these days. Just save him for when the Fishes face the Redskins in the fantasy playoffs.
TE J.J. Shetland Fishes @ Bengals 3 3 The Fishes need J.J. to block too much right now, so don't expect to see him with the ball in his hands very much.
TE Nellie O'Neal Orcas vs. Lions 1 3 Where is Nellie? Yet to be seen in a meaningful situation. Still not a good starting TERB.
TE Junior Seau Panthers vs. Bears 2 3 Really the only times Junior touches the ball is when he's snapping it to the QB, or there was a mistake.
TE Dmitri Petrovich Pigskins @ Stars 0 3 The Pigskins offense is good enough to get Dmitri the ball, but perhaps it's that good because Dmitri is rock solid on the offensive line. As it stands, they'll probably keep Dmitri blocking because it's where he's most valuable.
RB Chico Pappas Bears @ Panthers 0 2
TE Tiffany Bosworth Bengals vs. Fishes 5 2 Tiffany has been a dud so far this season and is not a good starting TERB candidate until the Bengals figure out their offense.
RB Ramona Bennett Cardinals @ Ravens 2 2
TE Leah Wayne Chiefs vs. Bills 0 2 Using Leah as a blocker has worked well for the Chiefs lately, and she appears to be out of the mix for fantasy purposes.
RB Jane Davis Dolphins @ Seahawks 2 2
RB Horace Young Frogs vs. Giants 0 2
RB Brace-Face Brixton Lions @ Orcas 0 2
TE Olive Hussein Rams vs. Rockets 4 2 I would argue that Olive the other tight ends in the league are better than Olive. I'd also argue that that was a bad pun.
RB George Anderson Seahawks vs. Dolphins 0 2
RB Pablo Sanchez Stars vs. Pigskins 4 2

Defenses

For this week only (and possibly future weeks) the projections on defense are completely my guesses. There was no "looking into the future" on these projections.
Pos Player Team Opponent Last Week Projection Comments...........................................
DEF Ravens Defense Ravens vs. Cardinals 14 19 The Ravens have been phenomenal on defense and they are matched up against the league leader in interceptions (Zena, with 5). Could be a big day for the Ravens.
DEF Broncos Defense Broncos vs. Patriots 15 18 The Broncos have one of the juiciest matchups in the league, and they have a rather strong defense already. Could pay big dividends for them this week.
DEF Pigskins Defense Pigskins @ Stars 17 18 The Pigskins have scored in double digits every week and they are facing the one team everybody wants to face. The Pigskins could be near the top of the fantasy defenses this week.
DEF Dolphins Defense Dolphins @ Seahawks 13 17 If the Dolphins can shut down Fred Sanders in the running game, they'll be golden. If the Seahawks try to pass the ball more, the Dolphins will be all over Julio. Could be a nice game for this thriving defense.
DEF Giants Defense Giants @ Frogs 15 15 The Giants defense stepped up big last game against a weak opponent, and they have another softie here. The Giants could be a nice streamer pick if you need a defense.
DEF Fishes Defense Fishes @ Bengals 8 14 The Fishes defense has been alternating good and bad games lately. A matchup against a winless offense looks like they could tilt back to a good game again.
DEF Panthers Defense Panthers vs. Bears 15 14 Take out the Week 3 dud and the Panthers have been putting up big numbers on defense. This week they face a team that has been inconsistent. I see some upside for this Panthers D.
DEF Rockets Defense Rockets @ Rams 14 14 The Rockets have been very consistent on defense and still sit on the waiver wire. They might be a good streaming option this week against a 1-3 Rams squad.
DEF Chiefs Defense Chiefs vs. Bills 14 13 Paced by their defense, the Chiefs look unstoppable yet again, sitting atop the Backyard Conference as the only undefeated team left. The Bills pose a bit of a threat, but this Chiefs team will usually find a way to put up fatasy points.
DEF Lions Defense Lions @ Orcas 2 13 The Lions have limped out to a 2-2 start. Their defense scored 8 and 2 fantasy points in the two losses, while scoring 13 and 17 in the two wins. So, do you think the Lions are gonna win this week? Win or lose, they are facing a slow QB and sacks could be easily attainable.
DEF Saints Defense Saints vs. Buccaneers 9 13 The Saints defense can be quite up and down, and so can the Buccaneers offense. I think the Saints pass rush could get to Sally a few times.
DEF Bills Defense Bills @ Chiefs 5 11 The Bills have been in a funk on defense, half of which can be attributed to playing the Redskins, and the other half of which has no explanation. They'll look to right the ship against a powerful Chiefs offense.
DEF Rams Defense Rams vs. Rockets 16 11 The Rams have picked it up here the last two weeks, but they are facing a skilled QB in this game. This could go either way.
DEF Bears Defense Bears @ Panthers 12 10 The Bears defense has been in the middle of the road just about all season long. But they also have had a pretty tough schedule thus far.
DEF Orcas Defense Orcas vs. Lions 13 10 The Orcas defense has been right in the middle just about all season long. However, that could take a hit here against an electric offense.
DEF Seahawks Defense Seahawks vs. Dolphins 7 9 The Seahawks started out hot but have since had two clunkers. A date with the Dolphins doesn't sound like fun either, as Ben None is still running all over opposing defenses.
DEF Bengals Defense Bengals vs. Fishes 9 8 The Bengals are pretty hit or miss, but they are facing a struggling Fishes offense. However, I'd look for another defense if you have one.
DEF Stars Defense Stars vs. Pigskins 9 8 The Stars finally broke out of their 6 slump, but still have yet to reach double digits. They're not the best option right now.
DEF Buccaneers Defense Buccaneers @ Saints 13 7 After a favorable matchup, the Bucs didn't actually such a huge game on defense. Now, they're facing the dynamic Eric Lebeaux and they'll have a hard time bringing him down.
DEF Frogs Defense Frogs vs. Giants 8 7 The Frogs defense has been severely underwhelming, and should be avoided for fantasy purposes until they can prove they belong.
DEF Patriots Defense Patriots @ Broncos 13 7 The Patriots have been rather good the past two weeks, but I wouldn't trust anybody who's playing the Broncos.
DEF Cardinals Defense Cardinals @ Ravens 8 5 The Cardinals have been near the bottom of fantasy defenses last season and this season. They also have a very tough matchup against a 3-1 Ravens team.
DEF Jaguars Defense Jaguars vs. Redskins 13 3 Unfortunately for the Jaguars, they are running into the Redskins this week, who rarely get sacked and are incapabale of turning the ball over. It will be a rough week for the Jags D.
DEF Redskins Defense Redskins @ Jaguars 7 3 The Redskins actually weren't too bad last week, but they will still never be anywhere near starter material.

2020.10.05 22:00 Miss_Kit_Kat Rufus & Lily's "Groupie Days"

Has it ever been discussed what a gaping plot hole this is? How could Rufus and Lily be dating throughout the 90s (Lisa Loeb, Doc Martens, etc.) when Dan/Serena were born in 1991, and Jenny in 1993?
Wouldn't their crazy youthful days take place in the 80s? The references are cute, but it screws up the timeline for Scott's birth, Rufus meeting Allison and Lily meeting William VdW, etc.

Show Notes

Just when we thought the 2020 French Open couldn’t get any weirder, Day 4 began with a Sonic Boom over Paris as a fighter plane broke the sound barrier, and this was followed by Serena Williams withdrawing from the tournament with an Achilles injury.
Elsewhere, we discuss Anna Karolina Schmiedlova's story after she beat Victoria Azarenka, the drama and fallout between Sara Errani and Kiki Bertens, impressive wins for Rafael Nadal, Dominic Thiem and Stan Wawrinka, and yet another five-setter for Alexander Zverev at a Grand Slam.

Show Notes

On the day when tennis celebrated the trailblazing Original 9, it felt right that Naomi Osaka, Jennifer Brady, Victoria Azarenka and Serena Williams produced one of the greatest semi-final nights of all time. We break down both matches and discuss the breathtaking quality of Osaka vs Brady, Osaka's final game nerves, Serena's blistering start, Azarenka's extraordinary comeback and how this defeat for Serena compares to her recent setbacks in her quest for No.24.

2020.09.10 08:51 ianvideo 10th September 2020 - US Open Day 10 - Serena Williams vs. Victoria Azarenka. Yes please.

Show Notes

A new chapter will be written in one of tennis' most interesting rivalries when Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka face off in Thursday's semi-finals. In this episode we discuss Azarenka's demolition of Elise Mertens, the way we're having to consider her as a real force in the game once again, her different mindset, Serena's problem solving against Tsvetana Pironkova, and the way both players will relish the challenge. On the men's side, Daniil Medvedev beat Andrey Rublev in a match which was memorable for Rublev's banana abuse and Medvedev's sudden fitness struggles at the end of the match.

2020.09.05 11:49 ianvideo 5th September 2020 - US Open Day 5 - Brits booted, Shapo’s escape, and the curious case of Adrian Mannarino

Show Notes

We begin by discussing Felix Auger-Aliassime's victory over Andy Murray in yesterday's night session. How much was the one-sided result down to Auger-Aliassime's brilliance and how much was it because of Murray's depleted physical condition? Moving on to Friday's action, there's chat about disappointing defeats for Cameron Norrie and Dan Evans, Naomi Osaka's stressful victory over Marta Kostyuk, Denis Shapovalov's escape against Taylor Fritz, and the bizarre delay to Adrian Mannarino vs Alexander Zverev. We also revisit the opposite of "on the boat" and look ahead to tomorrow's schedule, highlighted by Serena Williams vs Sloane Stephens.

2020.09.02 09:55 ianvideo 2nd September 2020 - US Open Day 2 - How did Andy Murray win that?

Show Notes

He was down two sets to love. He was down a break in the third. He was down match point. And he was down a break in the decider. But Andy Murray still managed to beat Yoshito Nishioka on Tuesday at the US Open in his first Grand Slam singles match since the 2019 Australian Open.
We discuss how he did it, the reason for his slow start, and how he's holding up physically.
We also cover Jo Konta's mood and form after her defeat of compatriot Heather Watson, Serena Williams' opener, an epic between Karen Khachanov and Jannik Sinner, and much more.

Fun Facts/Trivia:
**-**Mike & Bryan had thought of the idea for the avatar origin story during development of ATLA's second season.
-New Characters/VAs: Wan (Steven Yeun), Raava (April Stewart), Jonathan Adams (Vaatu), Aye Aye Spirit (Jason Marsden), Bhanti Shaman (Barbara Goodson),
-Tennis player Serena Williams makes her second avatarverse cameo, this time as a sage.
-The art style was inspired by ancient ink wash paintings and woodblock prints of East Asia and was achieved by changing the color palette, reducing lighting effects, and increasing stylizing.
-The Chou family shares its name with the Zhou Dynasty, romanized "Chou Dynasty". Notably, the architecture, clothing, and weapons of the Chou family's realm resembled those of the Zhou Dynasty.
-Wan's acquisition of fire through deception fits with the thematic theft of fire, in which an individual steals fire for the benefit of humanity.
-This episode marks the first time Naga does not make an appearance
-The scene with the spirit procession across the bridge to the Spirit Oasis is similar to a scene early in Spirited Away. Likewise, humans having a distinct, unpleasant scent, according to the spirits, is a key point in the movie.
-Mula is reminiscent of the red elk Yakul in Princess Mononoke, another Miyazaki film, which also deals with conflict between humans and forest spirits
-The lion turtle Aang met had the same markings as Wan's fire lion turtle.
-Wan's age cut mid-firebending is similar to Korra's in the first episode.
-The order in which Wan and Raava received the ability to bend additional elements establishes the order of the Avatar Cycle: fire, air, water, and earth.
-The rock formations dotting the area in which the earth lion turtle lives bear a resemblance to Monument Valley.
-When Wan fights Vaatu after permanently merging with Raava, "Aang's Theme" from the original series can be heard in the background.
-The earth coin battlefield where Wan dies is the same battlefield Zuko rides through in Zuko Alone
-Just like Avatar Roku's origin story, Avatar Wan's story ends with the crying of a baby, signaling the birth of the next Avatar following his death.
Overviews:
In order to cleanse herself from a dark spirit's attack, Korra must reconnect with her Avatar Spirit by finding Raava. To do so, she needs to learn about the origins of the first Avatar, Wan. He tells her how he received the power of fire and learned the ways of the spirits, as well as how he was the one responsible for unleashing Vaatu, the spirit of darkness, into the world.
Wan's spiritual reflection shows Korra how he learned the other three elements and the reason why he eventually merged with Raava and became the first Avatar. His story makes Korra realize what she must do to restore balance to the physical and spirit worlds.
