2020.08.12 14:10 IllustriousProgram5 $BTDG ~ article write-up featuring BTDG out >>

The Rebirth of Live Sports Stocks (WWE, CHDN, BTDG, MSGS)
We are increasingly seeing some positive signs unfold on the virus front, with declining rates of infection, hospitalizations, and deaths, and some more movement on the treatment and vaccine fronts. The end of this pandemic may be in sight, at least in terms of the sense that we are in a collective crisis that shapes our daily lives week-in and week-out.
In step with that shift, we are seeing money move in the markets, with the Dow suddenly sharply outperforming the Nasdaq over the past week, and gold and silver falling sharply while interest rates start to rise, and oil companies and banks stocks break out to the upside.
All of those market signals may be telling us that the landscape is shifting and all of these undervalued stocks that have been hampered by the virus over the past six months may finally be ready to come back.
That points to outsized upside potential in industries like cruise lines, airlines, and – today’s focus – live sports.
With that in mind, we take a look at a selection of active stocks in the live sporting events space, including World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE:WWE), Churchill Downs, Inc. (NASDAQ:CHDN), B2Digital Inc (OTCMKTS:BTDG), and Madison Square Garden Sports Corp (NYSE:MSGS).
World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE:WWE) trumpets itself as an integrated media and entertainment company, engages in the sports entertainment business in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Asia Pacific, and Latin America.
It operates through three segments: Media, Live Events, and Consumer Products. The Media segment engages in the production and monetization of long-form and short-form media content across various platforms, including WWE Network, pay television, and digital and social media, as well as filmed entertainment. The Live Events segment is involved in the sale of tickets, including primary and secondary distribution; provision of event services; and sale of travel packages related to its live events.
World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE:WWE) just announced that Nick Khan, former Co-Head of Television at Creative Artists Agency (CAA), has been named President & Chief Revenue Officer, reporting directly to WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon.
“Nick is a seasoned media executive with a deep understanding of our business and a proven track record of generating significant value for sports and entertainment properties,” said McMahon. “While representing WWE at CAA, he was instrumental in transforming our business model by securing domestic media rights increases of 3.6x over our previous agreements. Nick’s management style and personal demeanor are perfect for WWE’s entrepreneurial culture, and he will fit right in with our exceptional management team.”
If you’re long this stock, then you’re liking how the stock has responded to the announcement. WWE shares have been moving higher over the past week overall, pushing about 2% to the upside on above average trading volume.
WWE shares have been relatively flat over the past month of action, with very little net movement during that period.
World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE:WWE) managed to rope in revenues totaling $223.4M in overall sales during the company’s most recently reported quarterly financial data — a figure that represents a rate of top line growth of -16.9%, as compared to year-ago data in comparable terms. In addition, the company has a strong balance sheet, with cash levels far exceeding current liabilities ($547.9M against $544.3M).
Churchill Downs, Inc. (NASDAQ:CHDN) bills itself as an industry-leading racing, online wagering, and gaming entertainment company anchored by our iconic flagship event – The Kentucky Derby.
The company owns and operates Derby City Gaming, a historical racing machine facility in Louisville, Kentucky. It also owns and operates the largest online horse racing wagering platform in the U.S., TwinSpires.com, and sports betting and iGaming through its BetAmerica platform in multiple states. CHDN is also a leader in brick-and-mortar casino gaming with approximately 11,000 slot machines and video lottery terminals and 200 table games in eight states.
Churchill Downs, Inc. (NASDAQ:CHDN) most recently reported business results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2020.
Highlights from the quarter include: net revenue of $185.1 million, down 61% over the prior year quarter, a net loss of $118.8 million compared to net income(a) of $107.1 million in the prior year quarter, adjusted net loss of $21.1 million, compared to adjusted net income of $115.0 million in the prior year quarter, adjusted EBITDA of $30.1 million, down 86% compared to $215.0 million in the prior year quarter, and strong performance from TwinSpires with $18.3 million of Adjusted EBITDA growth and $100.7 million of handle growth, or 21.6%, over the prior year quarter despite the rescheduling of the 146th Kentucky Oaks and Derby to September.
And the stock has been acting well over recent days, up something like 17% in that time. Shares of the stock have powered higher over the past month, rallying roughly 30% in that time on strong overall action.
Churchill Downs, Inc. (NASDAQ:CHDN) generated sales of $185.1M, according to information released in the company’s most recent quarterly financial report. That adds up to a sequential quarter-over-quarter growth rate of -26.8% on the top line. In addition, the company has a strong balance sheet, with cash levels far exceeding current liabilities ($699M against $488.2M).
B2Digital Inc (OTCMKTS:BTDG) styles itself as the premier development league for the mixed martial arts (MMA) fighting sport. The company operates live events, pay-per-view media, gyms, and other resources to maximize the development of future stars in the MMA sport.
B2Digital operates a number of fighting events brands, including Pinnacle, HRMMA, Strikehard, and others, and has developed and deployed the systems and technologies for the operation of the B2 Fighting Series. This includes social media marketing, event management, digital ticketing sales, digital video distribution, digital marketing, PPV, FTV, merchandise sales, brand management, and financial control systems.
B2Digital owns all rights for TV, internet, social media, media, merchandising and trademarks, and branding for the B2Digital companies.
B2Digital Inc (OTCMKTS:BTDG) most recently announced its upcoming event schedule, which should be a very good sign for shareholders given that it has a strong offering on tap with 13 major events set across 5 states over the next three and a half months.
We would also note that the company has been apparently in a uniquely strong position in terms of laying a foundation for the world that comes after the virus, with a number of assets acquired on the cheap and a clear reduction in overall competition. That could position BTDG for some serious upside potential if the cards deal right from here.
If you’re long this stock, then you’re liking how the stock has responded to the announcement. BTDG shares have been moving higher over the past week overall, pushing about 113% to the upside on above average trading volume. Shares of the stock have powered higher over the past month, rallying roughly 257% in that time on strong overall action.
B2Digital Inc (OTCMKTS:BTDG) pulled in sales of $169K in its last reported quarterly financials, representing top line growth of 155%. In addition, the company is stocking over $75K on hand liquid cash assets.
Madison Square Garden Sports Corp (NYSE:MSGS) is a professional sports company with a collection of assets that includes the New York Knicks (NBA) and the New York Rangers (NHL); two development league teams, including the Westchester Knicks (NBAGL) and the Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL); and esports teams.
The company also owns two professional sports team performance centers, including the MSG training center in Greenburgh, New York and the CLG performance center in Los Angeles, California. Madison Square Garden Sports Corp. was formerly known as The Madison Square Garden Company.
Madison Square Garden Sports Corp (NYSE:MSGS) will host a conference call to discuss results for its fourth quarter and fiscal year ended June 30, 2020 on Friday, August 14, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. Eastern Time.
The Company will issue a press release reporting its results prior to the market opening. Speculation will be rife into the report as investors and market participants look for clues as to how a company with such an overwhelming dependence on crowd-attended events is able to cope with the present environment. With deep pockets, it may actually come out stronger as competition bites the dust and assets appear on the market for rock-bottom pricing. Time will tell.
And the stock has been acting well over recent days, up something like 5% in that time. Shares of the stock have powered higher over the past month, rallying roughly 10% in that time on strong overall action.
Madison Square Garden Sports Corp (NYSE:MSGS) pulled in sales of $424M in its last reported quarterly financials, representing top line growth of -18%. In addition, the company has a strong balance sheet, with cash levels far exceeding current liabilities ($1.4B against $886.7M).

2020.04.05 17:58 HandsLikeLuke A detailed look at the original home rink of every NHL franchise

So I've always been fascinated by old barns, and decided to take a look at the original home rink of every NHL team. I included exterior shots if it's now demolished as well.
I may have made some mistakes here and there, so obviously feel free to correct me if so. And I didn't include Vegas, since there's not much history there yet lol.
Enjoy!

2020.03.29 00:06 Cav_vaC Rankings: Every D1 Team vs. Spread Since 2011 (Cumulative) - UVA, MSU, Nova on top

Since 2011 (as far back as I have data), how has each team done vs. the spread?
Specifically, if you bet $110 on every single game to beat the spread (which wins you $100 profit) since 2011, where would you be today? The chart below shows.
Interestingly, a lot of the best teams of the era were also the best vs. the spread. Coincidence? I'm not sure, honestly. Someone has to be best vs. the spread, and assuming it's a bell curve (and it is) someone will be 2+ standard deviations ahead. But there's no a priori reason it should be UVA and MSU instead of e.g. Washington State or St. Peter's.
(To pre-answer a question, sometimes you can win more money with fewer net wins vs. the spread because losses hurt you more than wins benefit you, and not every game gets a spread.)

2020.02.12 16:02 the_silent_one1984 The Story of the Chip

So, guys I gotta tell you this story that happened to me a few months ago… I got up one morning with bad breath so the first thing I did was brush my teeth. I usually don't bruth my teeth until after I had coffee but my breath was so bad I couldn't even breathe. So as I was brushing my teeth, I noticed that a chip somehow broke off of the toilet seat. I've never seen it before, and I last used it last night, so it must've happened overnight. How does something like that happen? I didn't have to go, so I didn't care at the time. So, after brushing my teeth I went to the coffee pot, took out the old filter, put a new one in, put the coffee grinds in, put the water in, and then I turned it on.
I went out to get the paper. The front page headline was about some family killing that occurred yesterday. How could someone kill an entire family, including the pets? What a sicko. By the time I was in the business section my coffee was done so I poured myself a cup. By the time I was finished with my second cup I realized I had to leave now to go to work. It's not like work would fire me on the spot if I were late, but I still like to come 5 minutes before 9 just because that's the way I am. On my way to work I hit this huge pothole. I hope that didn't do anything to my tires or suspension or anything. If I hear the slightest clink in my car the first thing I'm doing is taking it to the shop. I'm anal that way.
When I came into the office, I saw that the office receptionist was different. Apparently the receptionist was sick so we had this substitute. I wonder where we got this substitute? Where do they come from? I sat at my desk and checked my email. One was a memo to everyone reminding them to throw out their old food from the refrigerator. I think they send that memo like 3 times a month…”
so Bob from accounting comes into my office and asks, 'Where are those timesheets? I need to use them for receivables. You're a contractor, you know.' I assured him I'll bring it to him as soon as possible. Just after Bob leaves, Cindy comes in. “Hey, dude, you've got to see this video on YouTube' she said. I'm like, 'Cindy, I've got a lot of work to do, we're not paid to watch videos on YouTube and share them with our colleagues.” She looked at me like I had a rod shoved up my butt but the fact is if I did get up and watch it, I'd end up making that into a habit. I'm prone to habit, so whenever anyone gives me any sort of temptation, even if it's a minor 2 minute distraction, I lose focus for the rest of the day, especially if it's early in the day.
I finished checking my email. I like to keep all my emails regardless of how trivial they are. I didn't even delete the refrigerator memo. Even if I know I'm probably never going to read that email again, and it will just take up space in my hard drive, I still just feel like keeping this kind of stuff. Sure, I might archive really old emails, but even then, I keep the archives somewhere. I opened Excel and continued with my task I couldn't complete yesterday. I can't discuss the contents of the file because of my non-disclosure, but it basically just provides some statistics on our marketing campaigns. You know, like broad demographics; which regions a campaign really seem to respond to a particular ad and so forth. Our products are sold throughout the US, and we track about 60 regions or “markets” as they call them. Obviously some markets, like in the urban north east, will have vastly different statistics than the more rural rocky mountain areas, and people's behaviors depend on the region, too. For example, in a more rural region, you'll find that people are more willing to travel longer distances to shop than people in urban regions. This is most likely due to the less traffic encountered in the rural areas, plus, of course, you really don't have much choice anyway. If you're in the middle of nowhere, you have to go several miles to the nearest town to get anything.
We don't really track stuff like gender, race, age, or those other things that make people who they are. We are even more broad than that. It's simply which parts of the country are more responsive to our campaigns than others.
You'd be surprised at how much some campaigns differ from others depending on the region. Since we sell beach and pool supplies, our campaigns obviously are different in the southern regions than in the northern regions. And even then, you have to account for stuff like how far away your audience is from the ocean, whether there's a large lake nearby, and stuff like that. So, we'll often focus on pool stuff for the midwest regions, while we'll focus on both beach and pool stuff near the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Plus, in the north, we don't run any ads in the winter, except maybe special stuff around the holidays.
So, anyway, I digress. I finished my task, which took a good 3 hours or so. I busted the deadline a little, but I didn't care. At that point I was hungry, and it was just about time for lunch. I did the old peak above the cubicle thing to see if there's anyone gathered around with the same thing in mind. Nobody was there, so I went to my neighboring cubicle where Josh was. “Hey, Josh, when are you thinking about getting lunch?” I asked him. He seemed to ignore me for a few seconds before turning around. “Give me like five minutes,” he finally answered. I said, “Alright, just see me when you're ready.” I return to my cubicle, and I just realized something.
I forgot about those timesheets Bob asked for in the morning. I know he was already expecting them from this time yesterday, and he's real picky about things like this. I gulped as I hurried through my computer looking for the word template. Yes, I know we should use excel to make timesheets or, even better, use some kind of web portal that records this stuff for HR. I had two weeks of work to report, and the last 5 days I had in my head. Erg, I just HATE it when I have to think back and recall what exactly I did those last few days, which breaks I took, etc… I know what you're all thinking, “You should just update it every day,” but I keep forgetting at the end of the day since my heart's set on going home.
While I was documenting all my time, Josh comes up and says, “Alright, I'm ready. Where should we go?” I said, “Sorry, right now you'll have to give ME 5 minutes.” he said, “What, did you forget your timesheet again?” He wasn't really ridiculing me or was condenscending. He said it in a friendly sort of way, even empathetic. He's a full timer, so he doesn't have to do this crap, but he had worked in other places where they expected you to keep track of time and hand in timesheets regularly, so he understands my pain.
I finally finished the timesheet, printed it out, and said, “Let's go.” On our way out, I slipped the printed timesheet into Bob's inbox, and hoped Bob wouldn't yell at me again for handing it in late. I would have handed it in in-person to make sure he got it asap, but he wasn't in his office and I was too hungry to hunt him down.
In the parking lot, Josh said, “You got your keys in hand, walking with a purpose, but you haven't told me where you wanted to go yet.” I answered, “Oh, right… well, I'm in the mood for Chinese today. Want to go to Dynasty Kitchen?” Josh said, “Alright, sounds good to me.”
On our way there, this idiot cuts me off. I gave him a little honk. Josh seemed more agitated about it than me. “Honestly, it's a wonder everyone in this state hasn't been killed by some car accident or another,” Josh said angrily. I said, “I just don't let it bother me. He needed a honk to let him know he's an idiot, but I didn't get hit, so what's the point in raising your blood pressure over it?” Josh didn't answer.
We got to Dynasty Kitchen, about a mile away from the office. We sit down at a window seat, and Josh says, “So, have you got anything lined up after this contract expires?” Josh and I have known eachother since before the contract; in fact he helped me get a foot in the door to get the job. “Well, I haven't really been looking quite yet. I've still got over a month, although I guess I should look forward to the next gig, especially in this economy.” Josh nodded. “There's a possibility, actually, that our company has another contract job lined up, and it might be in your best interest to take it. Afterall, I bet they'd consider it a plus that you're now more familiar with their business than someone more green. Besides the timesheet issues, you're a good fit in this company.”
“Well, I do like this place.” Considering the size of the company, it's still got sort of a small business feel to it. It's got its share of Office Space-like stuff. There's a director, Paul, who looks and acts just like Bill Lumbergh but fortunately he's in another department so I don't have to deal with him as much. I just see him and think, “Oh, man, he's just like that guy in Office Space.” There's another woman who looks like that big receptionist. We don't really have a Milton, though. “Same kind of stuff?” I asked.
“Yeah, pretty much… just in a different department. You'd be working for Paul.” well, so much for not having him as my boss.
The food came and we started munching down. What's funny about Chinese restaurants is you can never tell the good ones from the bad ones just by looking at them. Sometimes you'll come across one that's very well decorated, has a lot of authentic-looking ornaments and expensive looking food, but it turns out to be as crappy as food court food, and then there's one like this one that's a hole in the wall, is poorly lit, has a strange odor, yet the food is amazing. I guess the same can be said about pizza places, though.
We split the bill, and then started back to the office. I wasn't looking forward to returning to my cubicle to get the next big task done, but, hey, it's my job.
When we returned, I thought in my head about getting my timesheet updated again, since I had gone to lunch, but I was like, “Nah…” Will I ever learn? lol
The next task was to take the Excel sheet I just composed and transform it into map data. We use ArcIMS to do it, which is a real pain in the arse. The developers of this piece of software could really use some bitch slapping. I mean, it was painful enough to install it. Then I had to figure out which piece of the suite went with what function. It's easy with other suites like Micorosoft Office, where you have Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc… those are all well-defined pieces of functionality that are, for the most part, independent of eachother. In ArcIMS, though, every single product in the suite is intertwined with the other, and it's really hard to figure out one from the other.
I took each region on the Excel sheet and laid it out on the map. They're pretty particular about the shape of the regions, and I have to make it just right. The north east is the most difficult because of the density of the regions. Boston, Providence, Hartford, New York, and Philadelphia are each regions and they are pretty small. For the previous report I got in trouble because the division between Providence and Boston was too far south, and for this one I have to make sure the Providence region extends through southeastern Massachusetts and eastern Connecticut. Hartford similarly has to extend up into western Massachusetts, but it also has to make way for Albany, which also shares part of western Mass. New York City goes into western Connecticut, but Hartford is also in that area. It's all a big mess and the client is very particular.
Next, I had to color each region based on sales per capita. Obviously, 500,000 sales in New York City does not equal 500,000 sales in Wyoming, so we adjust it based on population. Again, I can't go into details about the actual data, but I can tell you that some things are a bit counterintuitive. It took me a good several hours to complete the map, and by that time it was time to go home.
I drove back home, although first I had to get some food supplies at the supermarket. I carefully parked in the lot, walked in, and the first thing I see is… GIRL SCOUT COOKIES! Oh, how I love them! I ordered a whole bunch of cookies. Thin mints are my favorites, although the shortbread is good, too. I go through them within a week, though. I wish they sold them year-round. Grasshoppers are a lot like the thin mints, of course, but there's something about the thin mints that is better. Maybe it's just because they're only available between February and March.
I keep my shopping list in my head. I knew I needed coffee and toilet paper. Although many will disagree, I hold both with equal importance. If I find myself lacking either at any time, I freak out. I also noticed I was almost out of toothpaste, so I grabbed a new tube of that as well. And eggs. I needed eggs. Milk was alright, though. I also got some dinner supplies. It's not like I'm a master chef, and I often go for the frozen dinners, but tonight I decided to cook myself some steak and potatoes.
In the checkout line, I noticed the woman in front of me had some Basic 4 cereal. I don't know why, but I love Basic 4, and I got hungry for that just looking at it, so I pulled myself out of line and got that. It took me just 45 seconds and when I got back, I saw that all the lines got longer all of a sudden. That's just my kind of luck. It's as if everyone in the store decided to finish their shopping all at once!
When I was next in line I noticed the clerk was at least quick with the scanner. I can't stand the ones who kind of flutter around with it. Maybe it's unfair for me to say that, since they might be new employees or they might even be sick (although I'd hate it if I had all my food touched my someone with the flu). The clerk smiled at me as she does all customers, and asked for my card. These cards, by the way, are what keep me employed. Most of our demographic data comes from cards, where we can track who is buying what. It's for that reason I never have a card for, say, CVS or Walgreens because I really would rather not share information about what I buy there!
I finally got out of the store, although I'm sure my ice cream is melted by now. When I got home, I put the eggs and other stuff in the refrigerator, put the cereal in the cupboard, and got out the toilet paper, and went into the bathroom to put it in. It was at that time I noticed why my toilet had that chip in the seat. Remember that? I now remember it was because the previous night I had lifted it to pee and when I finished, I kind of put the seat in such a position that it was going to eventually fall back onto the seat. Indeed that is what must've happened; the seat fell down, and cracked. Wouldn't you know it!
So, that's the story of the broken toilet seat. I hope you enjoyed it.

2020.02.04 22:35 sunzusunzusunzusunzu The Disappearance of Jennifer Dulos

Jennifer Farber Dulos is a 50-year-old mother of five from New Canaan, Connecticut. She was last seen on May 24th, 2019 around 8:00am after dropping her children off at New Canaan Country School. Jennifer was last seen on residential surveillance driving east toward her home on Welles Lane. Jennifer’s nanny, Lauren, entered her home around noon and found an unopened granola bar and a mug of tea on the counter. Jennifer missed two appointments during the day. Unable to reach Jennifer, Lauren took the five children to the apartment of Jennifer’s mother, Gloria Farber, in New York City. Jennifer was reported missing around 7pm and her 2017 black Chevrolet Suburban was found on a side street in a large park near both the school and her home shortly after.
When authorities searched Jennifer’s home, blood stains and signs of a “serious physical assault” were found in the garage. There were bloodstains on the Range Rover parked inside the garage - along the driver’s door, the driver’s side rear fender, the front of the vehicle, and the left front fender was wiped clean. Blood was smeared on the floor by the driver’s rear door, an area of concrete that appeared that someone tried to clean blood off of it, and bloody partial footprints on the concrete. There was also blood on both garbage cans in the garage and on one’s left handle. The DNA of her estranged husband, Fotis Dulos, was found mixed with Jennifer’s blood on the faucet in the kitchen of her New Canaan home. His DNA was also found on the inside doorknob of her mudroom. He had never previously been allowed inside of Jennifer’s home, as it was hers alone. In fact, the last time Fotis saw his children was two days before Jennifer’s disappearance, where they ate dinner outside for around an hour while Jennifer and Lauren were inside. Lauren told police that she noticed ten rolls of paper towels were missing. Also missing were camping pillows and a cleaning pail.
The day after Jennifer’s disappearance, Lauren told police that she had witnessed or been present during several altercations between Jennifer and Fotis. These include in June 2017 when she found Jennifer crying in the driveway after she claimed Fotis tried to run her over and another incident that summer where Fotis chased Jennifer to the bedroom and pounded on the door until he realized that Lauren and one of his children were also inside. Jennifer didn’t contact police because Fotis had threatened to take the children to Greece permanently. She finally did contact police on August 2nd 2017 to report a verbal dispute which took place in front of their children where Fotis called her a bad mother and told her she belonged in an asylum.
On Father’s Day 2017, Fotis Dulos called 911 because he could not get in touch with Jennifer or their children, who were supposed to be visiting a cemetery in New York. Jennifer was really filing for divorce and moving the children into this New Canaan home. Their children were between the ages of 8 and 13, and included two sets of twins. In court documents, she stated she was afraid of Fotis and felt that he would physically or emotionally harm their children. She even presciently wrote, “I know that filing for divorce, and filing this Motion will enrage him. I know he will retaliate by trying to harm me in some way.” At the time of her disappearance, Jennifer and Fotis were still locked in a battle for custody of their five children. A court hearing in the divorce case between them scheduled for May 29th 2019 was canceled after Jennifer disappeared.
On June 1st, 2019 Fotis Dulos and his then-girlfriend of two years, Michelle Troconis, were charged with tampering with physical evidence and hindering prosecution in Jennifer’s disappearance after they were seen on the Hartford police surveillance system in Hartford, CT throwing away multiple trash bags during 30 stops along Albany Avenue at 7:15pm on the night of Jennifer’s disappearance. At least two bags that were recovered contained a shirt and bra as well as sponges covered in Jennifer’s blood. Zip ties with Jennifer’s blood on them were also found. Fotis Dulos was also seen putting a FedEx box containing altered license plates that were registered in his name down a storm drain as well as throwing away a small rug which appeared to be the one missing from Jennifer’s Suburban.
Troconis and Dulos pleaded not guilty to first-degree tampering with physical evidence and first-degree hindering prosecution. They were each held on $500,000 bail, with Troconis released June 3rd and Dulos released June 11th. On June 4th, Troconis pointed detectives toward the woods at the home she shares with Dulos. It is still unclear why.
Authorities spent three weeks searching more than 30 tons of trash in the Materials Innovation and Recycling Authority in Hartford, trying to find more of the trash bags that Dulos and Troconis threw out along Albany Avenue. According to the Courant, “the evidence discovered includes a black garden glove with Dulos’ DNA on the interior, a black Husky glove with Farber Dulos’ DNA on the outside of it, zip ties with Farber Dulos’ DNA and at least one garbage bag with the DNA of Dulos, Farber Dulos and Michelle Troconis.” Also recovered was a utility knife, and towels and cleaning items stained with blood.
In addition, they searched the Albany Avenue neighborhood, Jennifer Dulos’ home and her Welles Lane neighborhood, a property her parents own in New York, and Waveny park near where her car was recovered. The FBI Evidence Recovery Team even searched Waveny Park with metal detectors and brought in dogs trained to find electronic equipment, like cellphones. The Connecticut State Police Dive Team searched a lake on Old Farms Road in Avon, CT. They also searched multiple properties connected to Fotis Dulos’ homebuilding company, Fore Group, in New Canaan and Farmington, CT. Neighbors of 61 Sturbridge Hill Road in New Canaan heard loud banging coming from the Fore Group property the morning after Jennifer disappeared.
Another knife is believed to have been used in the crime because a homeless man was questioned by police after finding a hunting knife in the trash on Albany Avenue. He said he found it under a bloody pillow in a trash can and sold it to a man called “Fudge” who then sold it to an unknown person. This knife has never been recovered.
An “alibi script,” two pages of handwritten notes detailing the activities of Dulos and Troconis on May 24th and 25th, was found at Dulos’ Jefferson Crossing home. Troconis admits this alibi is false, and it had no mention of the drive or stops along Albany Avenue.
Fotis Dulos’ lawyer, Norm Pattis, says Fotis “had no motive to kill Jennifer,” as a recent court order had granted him joint custody of the children. However, Gloria Farber and the estate of Jennifer’s deceased father were suing Fotis Dulos for failure to repay $2 million loaned to him to purchase and develop properties with his business, Fore Group. Fotis claimed it was a gift, not a loan. If he and Jennifer divorced, he would potentially have been on the hook for the $2 million to her parents, as well as alimony and child support for their children, which include two sets of twins.
Pattis also says there is an explanation for the blood in the trash bags Dulos was seen on camera throwing away, which has yet to be revealed, and that Jennifer likely vanished on purpose to frame her husband, as proven by a “Gone Girl” like manuscript she wrote 17 years ago, but family and friends disagree that she would leave her children at all, let alone with Fotis.
Police interviewed Fore Group employee Pawel Gumienny on June 2nd 2019. The same day, Troconis admitted that it was her and Dulos in the Fore Group Raptor on Albany Avenue. Troconis claims that around 6:30 or 7:00pm, Dulos wanted to go to Starbucks and they drove to Hartford in the Raptor, but she claims she didn’t know what Dulos was doing and was on her phone the whole time. Dulos’ phone pinged on the 24th from 7:10 to 7:40pm along Albany Avenue. She also acknowledged that she couldn’t account for Dulos’ whereabouts on May 24th from around 8am until between 1 and 2pm.
Pawel Gummienny had shown up to Dulos’ home on May 31st, 2019 while police were waiting for Dulos and Troconis. He was reportedly sweaty and eventually admitted that he had removed seats from Dulos’ Porsche Cayenne. Gumienny also told police that he could not contact Dulos during the day of Jennifer’s disappearance. Cell phone data rules out Gumienny from involvement in this crime. When police seized his Toyota Tacoma on June 6th 2019, Gumienny told them that the seats inside were different than the seats on the day Jennifer disappeared because he switched them after Fotis instructed and pressured him to. Gumienny gave the old seats to police, which he had kept without Fotis knowing, and a blood-like substance that matched Jennifer’s DNA was found on the passenger seat. Gumienny had also noticed his car had been taken by Dulos to be washed without his consent, including a detailing of the interior, which he had never done before. Dulos had told Gumienny that he had hugged Jennifer on Mother's Day, and police may find "a hair" and not to mention that Troconis was the one who brought him the keys to his truck at 80 Mountain Spring Road.
In August, it was revealed that Kent Mawhinney, a South Windsor attorney who had previously represented Fotis Dulos had asked him to help him “reconnect sexually with his wife” just days before Jennifer disappeared. In January 2019 after being accused of spousal rape he filed for divorce. In documents in his divorce case it is clear that Mawhinney’s wife believes that he wanted her dead. In July 2019, Mawhinney was charged with violation of a protective order after Fotis Dulos tried to convince Mawhinney’s wife to meet with her estranged husband at his Jefferson Crossing home. Mawhinney’s name is listed in the “alibi script.”
A makeshift grave was discovered in August on property in East Granby linked to Kent Mawhinney. Two members of the Windsor rod & Gun club, located on about 25 acres of woods in East Granby, claimed that in May the grave was covered by barbecue grates and hidden under sticks and leaves, and that there were two bags of lime and a blue tarp in it. By June the hole had been filled in and was unnoticeable, according to the same members. In Spring, 2019 Mawhinney was told about a hidden key to the logging chain that secured the area. Police did not find any remains, nor did they find the tarp or lime. Mawhinney’s phone pinged on the tower that serves the gun club on March 29th for about a half hour and again on May 31st at 11:04pm.
On September 4th, 2019 Fotis Dulos was arrested again on new hindering and tampering charges. Michelle Troconis turned herself into police the next day for the same charges. Each again pleaded not guilty posted $500,000 bail and were released with GPS monitoring.
Michelle Troconis admits that she did not see Fotis Dulos the morning of May 24th, and that after she returned from dropping her daughter off at school, Kent Mawhinney was in the Fore Group offices at 4 Jefferson Crossing with Fotis’ cell phone on the table. Troconis also says Mawhinney instructed her to answer the Fotis’ phone when his childhood friend from Greece called. Mawhinney’s phone records show he was likely in the Fore Group office on May 24th. Mawhinney says he arrived at 4 Jefferson Crossing around 7:40am on May 24th and stayed there for 40 - 50 minutes and left without seeing Fotis. Troconis also claims that at 3PM she received a phone call from Fotis telling her to bring supplies to 80 Mountain Spring Road. She brought supplies - vacuum, swiffer sweeper, paper towels, Clorox, garbage bags - to 80 Mountain Spring Road and Fotis was already there. An hour later, Pawel Gumienny arrived, looking for his truck. He had to ask for the keys to his own truck multiple times and turn down Dulos' suggestion to use the Raptor.
Jennifer’s 51st birthday came and went on September 27th with no sign of her. Just before Thanksgiving, Fois Dulos and Jennifer Dulos were removed as guardians for the five children and Gloria Farber was granted custody. Gloria has had physical custody of the children in her New York City apartment since May 24th and had armed guards watching the children. After a December 4th court appearance for the civil trial Farber vs Dulos, Fotis told reporters he wished “Jennifer and her family happy holidays.”
Unsealed search warrants reveal that police believe Fotis Dulos drove Pawel Gumienny’s red Toyota Tacoma from Farmington, CT to New Canaan, CT the morning of Jennifer’s disappearance. The Tacoma was parked on Lapham Road as seen by security footage from a school bus. Based on surveillance videos, it is believed to have been parked on Lapham Road just after 7:05am. At 7:40am the Tacoma is seen parked approximately 100 feet from where Jennifer’s Suburban was found. Based on more surveillance footage, at 11:12 am the Tacoma headed north on Merritt Parkway toward past the New Canaan Rest Area and finally arrived at 80 Mountain Spring Road in Farmington at 12:22pm. There is a 40 minute gap in Dulos' known whereabouts between Lapham Road and Merritt Parkway.
Jennifer’s Suburban was seen on security video leaving her home at 10:25 and it is believed that Fotis Dulos was driving with Jennifer restrained or already deceased inside the car. Her phone pinged at Lapham Road at 10:38am and there was no further activity after 11:09am.
Police also noticed a dark Suburban with a damaged front left quarter panel on surveillance video from Thurton Drive, which comes to an end about 600 feet behind Jennifer’s home. It is believed to belong to Fotis Dulos, since an accident report listing Troconis as the driver of a 2015 Suburban was in an accident in which the left front quarter panel was damaged. However, it is unclear when the Suburban was captured on video.
On January 7, 2020 Fotis Dulos was charged with the murder of Jennifer Farber Dulos. On the same day, Michelle Troconis and Kent Mawhinney were charged with conspiracy to commit murder.
A judge ordered Dulos to strict indoor house arrest on January 23rd 2020 after he violated the parameters of his previous house arrest by getting out of his car and destroying a memorial for Jennifer on his way home.
An emergency hearing was ordered the morning of January 28th, and it was likely Fotis Dulos would have been temporarily re-arrested due to issues with his collateral. Dulos did not show up and his GPS monitor showed he was at his Jefferson Crossing home. Police conducted a welfare check at 11:54am and found Fotis Dulos in his running Suburban with a vacuum hose on the tailpipe, leading to a window. He was reported to be dead on live news, and Gloria Farber was notified of his death. However, after 30 minutes of lifesaving efforts, a pulse was detected and he was eventually flown to Jacobi Medical Center to be treated with a hyperbaric chamber for carbon monoxide poisoning. On January 30th, he was taken off of life support and passed away.
Dulos left a note proclaiming his innocence and also saying that Troconis and Mawhinney had nothing to do with Jennifer’s disappearance. He also claimed his lawyer could explain the Albany Avenue footage. Michelle Troconis and Kent Mawhinney are still expected to be tried for conspiracy to commit murder. Norm Pattis says he remains dedicated to clearing his client’s name and wants to substitute Fotis Dulos’ estate for the defendant at trial.
Where is Jennifer's body? Why would Fotis' lawyer try a "Gone Girl" defense? How does Fotis know who was involved with Jennifer's disappearance?

The Disappearance of Jennifer Dulos
Jennifer Farber Dulos

2020.01.30 17:21 NationofChange The U.S. is recycling its big lie about Iraq to target Iran

By: Nicolas J S Davies - January 30, 2020
Read the article here: https://www.nationofchange.org/2020/01/30/the-u-s-is-recycling-its-big-lie-about-iraq-to-target-iran/
Sixteen years after the U.S. invasion of Iraq, most Americans understand that it was an illegal war based on lies about non-existent “weapons of mass destruction.” But our government is now threatening to drag us into a war on Iran with a nearly identical “big lie” about a non-existent nuclear weapons program, based on politicized intelligence from the same CIA teams that wove a web of lies to justify the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003.
In 2002-3, U.S. officials and corporate media pundits repeated again and again that Iraq had an arsenal of weapons of mass destruction that posed a dire threat to the world. The CIA produced reams of false intelligence to support the march to war, and cherry-picked the most deceptively persuasive narratives for Secretary of State Colin Powell to present to the U.N. Security Council on February 5th 2003. In December 2002, Alan Foley, the head of the CIA’s Weapons Intelligence, Nonproliferation and Arms Control Center (WINPAC), told his staff, “If the president wants to go to war, our job is to find the intelligence to allow him to do so.”
Paul Pillar, a CIA officer who was the National Intelligence Officer for the Near East and South Asia, helped to prepare a 25-page document that was passed off to Members of Congress as a “summary” of a National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) on Iraq. But the document was written months before the NIE it claimed to summarize and contained fantastic claims that were nowhere to be found in the NIE, such as that the CIA knew of 550 specific sites in Iraq where chemical and biological weapons were stored. Most Members read only this fake summary, not the real NIE, and blindly voted for war. As Pillar later confessed to PBS’s Frontline, “The purpose was to strengthen the case for going to war with the American public. Is it proper for the intelligence community to publish papers for that purpose? I don’t think so, and I regret having had a role in it.”
WINPAC was set up in 2001 to replace the CIA’s Nonproliferation Center or NPC (1991-2001), where a staff of 100 CIA analysts collected possible evidence of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons development to support U.S. information warfare, sanctions and ultimately regime change policies against Iraq, Iran, North Korea, Libya and other U.S. enemies.
WINPAC uses the U.S.’s satellite, electronic surveillance and international spy networks to generate material to feed to U.N. agencies like UNSCOM, UNMOVIC, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), who are charged with overseeing the non-proliferation of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons. The CIA’s material has kept these agencies’ inspectors and analysts busy with an endless stream of documents, satellite imagery and claims by exiles for almost 30 years. But since Iraq destroyed all its banned weapons in 1991, they have found no confirming evidence that either Iraq or Iran has taken steps to acquire nuclear, chemical or biological weapons.
UNMOVIC and the IAEA told the U.N. Security Council in 2002-3 they could find no evidence to support U.S. allegations of illegal weapons development in Iraq. IAEA Director General Mohamed ElBaradei exposed the CIA’s Niger yellowcake document as a forgery in a matter of hours. ElBaradei’s commitment to the independence and impartiality of his agency won the respect of the world, and he and his agency were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005.
Apart from outright forgeries and deliberately fabricated evidence from exile groups like Ahmad Chalabi’s Iraqi National Congress (INC) and the Iranian Mojahedin-e Khalq (MEK), most of the material the CIA and its allies have provided to U.N. agencies has involved dual-use technology, which could be used in banned weapons programs but also has alternative legitimate uses. A great deal of the IAEA’s work in Iran has been to verify that each of these items has in fact been used for peaceful purposes or conventional weapons development rather than in a nuclear weapons program. But as in Iraq, the accumulation of inconclusive, unsubstantiated evidence of a possible nuclear weapons program has served as a valuable political weapon to convince the media and the public that there must be something solid behind all the smoke and mirrors.
For instance, in 1990, the CIA began intercepting Telex messages from Sharif University in Tehran and Iran’s Physics Research Centre about orders for ring magnets, fluoride and fluoride-handling equipment, a balancing machine, a mass spectrometer and vacuum equipment, all of which can be used in uranium enrichment. For the next 17 years, the CIA’s NPC and WINPAC regarded these Telexes as some of their strongest evidence of a secret nuclear weapons program in Iran, and they were cited as such by senior U.S. officials. It was not until 2007-8 that the Iranian government finally tracked down all these items at Sharif University, and the IAEA inspectors were able to visit the university and confirm that they were being used for academic research and teaching, as Iran had told them.
After the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, the IAEA’s work in Iran continued, but every lead provided by the CIA and its allies proved to be either fabricated, innocent or inconclusive. In 2007, U.S. intelligence agencies published a new National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) on Iran in which they acknowledged that Iran had no active nuclear weapons program. The publication of the 2007 NIE was an important step in averting a U.S. war on Iran. As George W Bush wrote in his memoirs, “…after the NIE, how could I possibly explain using the military to destroy the nuclear facilities of a country the intelligence community said had no active nuclear weapons program?”
But despite the lack of confirming evidence, the CIA refused to alter the “assessment” from its 2001 and 2005 NIEs that Iran probably did have a nuclear weapons program prior to 2003. This left the door open for the continued use of WMD allegations, inspections and sanctions as potent political weapons in the U.S.’s regime change policy toward Iran.
In 2007, UNMOVIC published a Compendium or final report on the lessons learned from the debacle in Iraq. One key lesson was that, “Complete independence is a prerequisite for a U.N. inspection agency,” so that the inspection process would not be used, “either to support other agendas or to keep the inspected party in a permanent state of weakness.” Another key lesson was that, “Proving the negative is a recipe for enduring difficulties and unending inspections.”
The 2005 Robb-Silberman Commission on the U.S. intelligence failure in Iraq reached very similar conclusions, such as that, “…analysts effectively shifted the burden of proof, requiring proof that Iraq did not have active WMD programs rather than requiring affirmative proof of their existence. While the U.S. policy position was that Iraq bore the responsibility to prove that it did not have banned weapons programs, the Intelligence Community’s burden of proof should have been more objective… By raising the evidentiary burden so high, analysts artificially skewed the analytical process toward confirmation of their original hypothesis – that Iraq had active WMD programs.”
In its work on Iran, the CIA has carried on the flawed analysis and processes identified by the UNMOVIC Compendium and the Robb-Silberman report on Iraq. The pressure to produce politicized intelligence that supports U.S. policy positions persists because that is the corrupt role that U.S. intelligence agencies play in U.S. policy, spying on other governments, staging coups, destabilizing countries and producing politicized and fabricated intelligence to create pretexts for war.
A legitimate national intelligence agency would provide objective intelligence analysis that policy-makers could use as a basis for rational policy decisions. But, as the UNMOVIC Compendium implied, the U.S. government is unscrupulous in abusing the concept of intelligence and the authority of international institutions like the IAEA to “support other agendas,” notably its desire for regime change in countries around the world.
The U.S.’s “other agenda” on Iran gained a valuable ally when Mohamed ElBaradei retired from the IAEA in 2009, and was replaced by Yukiya Amano from Japan. A State Department cable from July 10th 2009 released by Wikileaks described Mr. Amano as a “strong partner” to the U.S. based on “the very high degree of convergence between his priorities and our own agenda at the IAEA.” The memo suggested that the U.S. should try to “shape Amano’s thinking before his agenda collides with the IAEA Secretariat bureaucracy.” The memo’s author was Geoffrey Pyatt, who later achieved international notoriety as the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine who was exposed on a leaked audio recording plotting the 2014 coup in Ukraine with Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland.
The Obama administration spent its first term pursuing a failed “dual-track” approach to Iran, in which its diplomacy was undermined by the greater priority it gave to its parallel track of escalating U.N. sanctions. When Brazil and Turkey presented Iran with the framework of a nuclear deal that the U.S. had proposed, Iran readily agreed to it. But the U.S. rejected what had begun as a U.S. proposal because, by that point, it would have undercut its efforts to persuade the U.N. Security Council to impose harsher sanctions on Iran.
As a senior State Department official told author Trita Parsi, the real problem was that the U.S. wouldn’t take “Yes” for an answer. It was only in Obama’s second term, after John Kerry replaced Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State, that the U.S. finally did take “Yes” for an answer, leading to the JCPOA between Iran, the U.S. and other major powers in 2015. So it was not U.S.-backed sanctions that brought Iran to the table, but the failure of sanctions that brought the U.S. to the table.
Also in 2015, the IAEA completed its work on “Outstanding Issues” regarding Iran’s past nuclear-related activities. On each specific case of dual-use research or technology imports, the IAEA found no proof that they were related to nuclear weapons rather than conventional military or civilian uses. Under Amano’s leadership and U.S. pressure, the IAEA “assessed” that “a range of activities relevant to the development of a nuclear explosive device were conducted in Iran prior to the end of 2003,” but that ”these activities did not advance beyond feasibility studies and the acquisition of certain relevant technical competences and capabilities.”
The JCPOA has broad support in Washington. But the U.S. political debate over the JCPOA has essentially ignored the actual results of the IAEA’s work in Iran, the CIA’s distorting role in it and the extent to which the CIA has replicated the institutional biases, the reinforcing of preconceptions, the forgeries, the politicization and the corruption by “other agendas” that were supposed to be corrected to prevent any repetition of the WMD fiasco in Iraq.
Politicians who support the JCPOA now claim that it stopped Iran getting nuclear weapons, while those who oppose the JCPOA claim that it would allow Iran to acquire them. They are both wrong because, as the IAEA has concluded, and even President Bush acknowledged, Iran does not have an active nuclear weapons program. The worst that the IAEA can objectively say is that Iran may have done some basic nuclear weapons-related research sometime before 2003 – but then again, maybe it didn’t.
Mohamed ElBaradei wrote in his memoir, The Age of Deception: Nuclear Diplomacy in Treacherous Times, that, if Iran ever conducted even rudimentary nuclear weapons research, he was sure it was only during the Iran-Iraq War, which ended in 1988, when the U.S. and its allies helped Iraq to kill up to 100,000 Iranians with chemical weapons. If ElBaradei’s suspicions were correct, Iran’s dilemma since that time would have been that it could not admit to that work in the 1980s without facing even greater mistrust and hostility from the U.S. and its allies, and risking a similar fate to Iraq.
Regardless of uncertainties regarding Iran’s actions in the 1980s, the U.S.’s campaign against Iran has violated the most critical lessons U.S. and U.N. officials claimed to have learned from the debacle in Iraq. The CIA has used its almost entirely baseless suspicions about nuclear weapons in Iran as pretexts to “support other agendas” and “keep the inspected party in a permanent state of weakness,” exactly as the UNMOVIC Compendium warned against ever again doing to another country.
In Iran as in Iraq, this has led to an illegal regime of brutal sanctions, under which thousands of children are dying from preventable diseases and malnutrition, and to threats of another illegal U.S. war that would engulf the Middle East and the world in even greater chaos than the one the CIA engineered against Iraq.

It's nights like these where I genuinely dislike having a Farm team on the east coast because it is going to be tough to track this Utica Comets showdown with the Syracuse Crunch when that kind of game is going down on my other screen!

The Comets aren't without their storylines either. After a brutal back-to-back weekend against the Laval Rocket, the Comets saw their list of available centers crater even further if such a thing was thought to be possible!

After Saturday's action, the Comets lost Wacey Hamilton, Lukas Jasek, and Vincent Arseneau to injuries. The injuries to Hamilton and Jasek will prove most difficult for this squad to overcome, as there are barely any natural centers remaining on the roster. As it stands, the team has Francis Perron and Carter Bancks floating in the center position for the time being. But their top-six is currently being centered by Carter Camper and Seamus Malone.

For those who've kept up with the Farm, Malone has missed the last four games with an arm injury. Before that, Malone had been alternating time between the press box and the fourth-line. Tonight he sees the promotion of all promotions when he centers Sven Baertschi and Reid Boucher. I've liked Malone's game since his debut with the Comet's late last season. In his brief time with the Comets, he's displayed a decent shot and solid foot speed, albeit a bit undersized. I would not be surprised if he impressed alongside these two, as he seems like the type who would elevate his game to his linemates level.

The Comets (by my tracking) have been getting dominated at even-strength as of late, so the additions of Sven Baertschi and Antoine Roussel to the lineup will be a welcome relief to this squad.

Tonight, the Comets faceoff against the Syracuse Crunch, as mentioned above. The Crunch come into Wednesday's matchup on a three-game winning streak. Having spent their last week dominating the Eastern Conference-leading, Hartford Wolf Pack, in back-to-back games.

The Comets, by comparison, haven't won a home game since October 30th. I know what you're thinking, it's a spooky curse! But, it might just be that this team has been propped up by incredible goaltending, and the erosion of the team's top players has caused this, once-hot team to cool off to a concerning degree. For the Utica faithful's sake, I hope this rag-tag group can put together a win for the home crowd.

With that out of the way, let's get into tonight's game starting with the night's lineup!

THE STARTING LINEUP

LW C RW
Baertsch (#47) Malone (#17) Boucher (#24)
Roussel (#62) Camper (#19) Lind (#13)
Gadjovich (#21) Perron (#27) Bailey (#95)
Sorenson (#74) Bancks (#34) Stevenson (#26)
LD RD
Sautner (#6) Chatfield (#5)
Brisebois (#55) Rafferty (#25)
Blujus (#8) Eliot (#52)
G
Michael Di Pietro

All-star Rookie Goalie, Michael Di Pietro, gets the start at home. MDP was absolutely phenomenal on Saturday against the Rocket, where he posted an incredible 0.953 save% and a 2.01 Goals-against-average.
Other lineup notes not previously addressed; Tanner Sorenson slides into the lineup for the first time this season. Sorenson picked up three goals and three assists with the Kalamazoo Wings, before getting the call-up as an injury replacement.
Dylan Blujus also slides in for Josh Teves on that third pairing. I can't complain about that one too much, as Teves hasn't found a scoring touch yet in his time with the Comets. That and Blujus has the experience advantage, which this team will rely on heavily against the aggressive Crunch.

1st period

Comets in Green/White Alternates

The Score at the end of the 1st period: 1-0 Comets

Comets looking ok, all things considered. Shots tied at nine apiece! Game looks like it will be getting very chippy eventually. Roussel was mucking it up with a couple of Crunch players after heading to the bench on the PK. Given the team's dearth of centers, it's impressive they've stayed somewhat competitive at even-strength. Baertschi not doing much of anything tonight so far. Chalk it up to the brutal travel-to Syracuse. Shot attempts just not happening whenever Baertschi is controlling the puck. Seamus Malone has been driving play with Reid Boucher on that line tonight. Baertschi's fundamentals are keeping him in the play, but he genuinely isn't bringing much, shot-wise.

2nd Period

The Score at the end of the 2nd period: 2-1 Comets

Hard to fault them on the goal that cut the Comets lead, as MDP did his very best to try get a glove on it. Game is getting into bizarre territory with the odd number of penalties being called — 18 minutes worth of penalties, and four minutes of coincidental penalties. Comets outshot the Crunch twelve to ten. Couldn't even tell you who was edging who at even-strength. So much of this period has been spent on the man-advantage and so little at 5-on-5.

3rd period

Final Score: 4-1 Utica Comets

The Comets Trajectory?

The Comets return this Saturday and Sunday for another roadie double-header when the Comets head north to face off against the Toronto Marlies. The Marlies lead the North Division with 29 points, while the Comets now sit in third with 25. The Marlies currently sit on a six-game win streak, but they will be heading into the weekend double-header after also playing the Rochester Americans on the road Friday night. Utica has to do everything they can to overwhelm, what should be, an exhausted Marlies team.
